The Department of International
Relations, which was established in 2010 within the Faculty of Economics and
Administrative Sciences of Aksaray University, started to recruit the first
students in the fall semester of 2017-2018 academic year. 62 students were
enrolled in the first year of the department. The Department of International
Relations has also started to accept students with thesis and non-thesis
programs within the Department of Political Science and International Relations
with the Department of Political Science and Public Administration in the
spring semester of the 2017-2018 academic year.
The Department of International
Relations consists of three departments: International Relations, Political
History and State Law. With the expert and experienced teaching staff in the
field of education and training is carried out with the course load in accordance
with the Bologna system and wide elective course pool.
The discipline of International
Relations is linked to many disciplines such as History, Economics, Philosophy
and Sociology as a branch of social sciences. Within the scope of International
Relations discipline, the major International Politics, International
Organizations, International Relations Theories, Turkish Foreign Policy,
Political History and International Law as well as courses in Political
Science, History of Political Thought, Comparative Political Systems,
Constitutional Law, International Political Economy, Foreign Language,
Diplomatic Correspondence and Speaking Techniques.
The globalizing World, where international interaction in the political, military, economic, social and cultural spheres, has made it necessary to focus especially on state and non-state actors. This has brought about the need to train individuals who can analyze and analyze the events developing in the international relations at theoretical and practical level and present multiple perspectives in terms of their causes, developmental processes and results. For this reason, the need to understand, understand and analyze the events taking place in the world has increased the interest in the department.
Graduated students; they will have the opportunity to work not only in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but also in other public institutions and organizations such as universities, research institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, import / export departments, media and communication, and in the fields needed by the private sector.
